Errors in a manuscript deter even the most devoted readers. Let me help you polish it up!
I WILL:
- Perform a full and objective read-through from an average reader to look for plot consistency and flow.
- Check for spelling errors, typos, punctuation, autocorrect errors, wrong words grabbed in spell check, etc.
- Examine for clarity, note your strong points, and mark anything that makes me laugh out loud!
- Check for realistic character interaction, flaws, and consistency.
- Hold in confidence topics of a sensitive nature, including erotica.
- Work hard to make sure your voice remains unchanged.
- Promote your posts for 3 months on my social media outlets and interview on podcast.
- Not use AI.
YOU WILL GET:
- One document saved under a new name with comments, questions, and impressions.
- A friendly email with overall impressions of your work.
PLEASE NOTE: I am not a full editor. I can help you with minor grammatical errors, tone, flow, and provide an ordinary reader's opinion of your manuscript. I cannot help with your dangling participles.

Are you going to tear my manuscript apart?
Anyone who does this shouldn't be doing the job. If you've reached the level where you're looking for someone to go over your work, you ARE a good writer. If something can be improved upon, I'll point it out and make kind suggestions. You can take them/leave them as you know your baby best!
What type of file should I submit to you?
A virus-free Microsoft Word document. You can download a version of this off Google Docs if that's what you use!
I have a very specific word count. Will you still proofread and copy edit my romance novel?
Yes! I've read manuscripts from 20K words to over 115K words. Please contact me for custom orders.
What will I get in return?
I will send back to you a Microsoft Word document with tracked changes (you can open this in Google Docs as well) as well as general comments. I will also go over some thoughts on your manuscript in a message back to you.
What do you look for when you proofread and copy edit?
Generally speaking, anything that makes me pause while reading through your manuscript. So if something makes me laugh, I'll mention it! If your car was red to start and blue to end? I'll mention that too! Did autocorrect change her skirt to her shirt? I'll make a note!
What subgenres do you proofread and copy edit?
I read almost any romance subgenres, but I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the bully tropes, or anything with questionable consent.
I've only got a few chapters completed. Will you read it?
Of course! Sometimes feedback early in a manuscript can change the entire direction of where the story is going.
