What’s included?

Will the integration handle failed payments, card declines, and automatic retries?
Yes. I configure Stripe's Smart Retries (or custom retry logic) to automatically re-attempt failed charges on an optimized schedule. You'll also get dunning emails — automated notifications sent to customers when their payment fails, prompting them to update their card.
Can customers upgrade, downgrade, or cancel their subscription themselves through a portal?
Yes. I integrate Stripe's Customer Portal (or build a custom one if your design requires it) where subscribers can log in and manage their own plan — upgrade, downgrade, update payment method, view invoice history, and cancel.
How do you handle proration when a customer switches plans mid-cycle?
Stripe handles proration natively, and I configure it based on your preference. When a customer upgrades mid-cycle, they're charged the prorated difference for the remaining days. When they downgrade, they receive a prorated credit applied to their next invoice.
Will I receive webhook notifications for events like successful payments, cancellations, and disputes?
Yes. I set up Stripe webhooks that listen for all critical events: successful payments, failed payments, subscription created/updated/cancelled, disputes opened, and invoice finalized. These events trigger actions in your app — for example, activating a user's access on payment success.
Does the integration support multiple currencies and international customers?
Yes. Stripe supports 135+ currencies. I configure your integration to detect the customer's location and display prices in their local currency (or let you set specific currencies per plan). Stripe handles the conversion and settlement automatically.
Is the checkout page PCI-compliant and secure — will my customers feel safe entering their card?
Absolutely. I use Stripe Elements or Stripe Checkout, both of which are PCI DSS Level 1 compliant (the highest security standard in the payments industry). Card data never touches your server — it goes directly to Stripe's secure infrastructure.
Can I add coupon codes, discounts, or free trial periods to my subscription plans?
Yes, all of these are built in. I configure Stripe Coupons so you can create percentage-based or fixed-amount discounts, set expiration dates, and limit usage. Free trials are set up per plan (e.g., 7-day or 14-day trial with no card required, or with card upfront).
