This ultra-low-power continuity tester is built around the PIC12LF1571, a compact and cost-effective microcontroller with excellent low-voltage and low-power capabilities. Designed to operate from as little as 1.8V, it can achieve extremely low standby consumption, making long battery life possible. The analog front end is intentionally simple, using only three resistors, while an additional I/O pin on the negative side of the resistor divider adds extra control for features such as diode testing and probe-touch power activation. Inspired by classic minimalist tester designs, this project combines simplicity, efficiency, and practical functionality in a very compact form.
