I completed an internship at the Nîmes tourist office as a reception agent, welcoming visitors from all over the world, answering their questions, recommending places to visit and helping them plan their stay. This daily contact with international travelers strengthened my communication skills and my ability to explain things clearly in several languages. I am now continuing with the office through a work-study programme alongside my Master’s degree in Sustainable Tourism. My current project is writing a responsible traveler guide for Nîmes, a practical booklet that encourages visitors to explore the city in a more sustainable way: getting around without a car, shopping local, and discovering the destination respectfully. The guide also includes accessibility information for visitors with reduced mobility. This experience taught me how to write clear, welcoming and well-structured content for a real audience, which is exactly what I bring to every translation, proofreading and writing project I take on.
