FAQ
Do you offer job costing in QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Every job runs as its own project with materials, subcontractors, equipment rental and labor tagged to it, so each job's profit stands on its own instead of hiding in a company total.
How do you record customer deposits and progress billing?
Deposits are held as liabilities until the work is earned, then applied to progress invoices, so revenue never counts before you've built it and never counts twice.
Do you track retainage receivable and payable?
Both directions. What customers hold back moves to Retainage Receivable, what you hold from subcontractors sits in Retainage Payable, and both release cleanly at job close.
Do you handle subcontractor 1099 tracking?
Yes. Every subcontractor is a 1099 flagged vendor with payments totaled through the year, and I flag missing W-9s early, so January filing runs from a ready report.
Can you record financed equipment and depreciation?
Yes. Equipment sits on the balance sheet as an asset, each loan payment splits into principal and interest, and depreciation keeps the values accurate.
Can you do construction bookkeeping cleanup for past years?
Yes. Two years untouched is a normal starting point: rebuild, categorize, job tag, reconcile, deliver. Years and volume set the price, nothing else changes.
Are you a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor?
Yes, a Chartered Accountant and Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, with construction bookkeeping as one of my main specialties.
What do you need to start my bookkeeping?
Accountant access to your QuickBooks Online (Settings, Manage Users, Accounting Firms), plus bank, card and loan statements for the period. Work begins once both arrive.
I run more jobs and volume than the packages cover. What then?
Message me your trade, active job count and backlog, and I'll send a custom offer with exact pricing before anything starts.
Do you offer monthly construction bookkeeping after the cleanup?
Yes. Once the books are current, I can keep them that way each month: job costs posted, subs tracked, accounts reconciled and job profit reports delivered.
