Finance Manager - The Cloud Network

At The Cloud Network, I provided end-to-end finance management and strategic accounting support, helping the business regain financial control, improve cash flow, and build stronger financial processes for long-term growth. I managed the day-to-day finance function, including preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, financial statements, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analysis. I also advised directors on revenue maximisation, financial strategy, and operational improvements to support business growth and stability. One of my biggest achievements was rebuilding a severely compromised accounts receivable ledger containing over two years of incorrect entries and unallocated payments. Through detailed reconciliations, debt recovery, and implementing structured credit control procedures, I successfully recovered aged debts and improved the company’s cash balance by over 1,560%, helping stabilise the business and enabling further investment. I established the company’s debtor management and credit control function, including debtor suspension procedures, payment recovery processes, and legal action workflows where necessary. I also created and maintained purchase and sales ledger systems, managed reconciliations and payment allocations, completed VAT returns and year-end accounts, and provided technical support and mentoring to the accounts assistant. Alongside the finance function, I also designed and developed the Clarity Portal — a customised financial dashboard that transformed complex accounting data into clear, easy-to-understand business insights. The portal gave management real-time visibility over cash flow, outstanding invoices, profitability, VAT liabilities, forecasting, and overall business performance, helping directors make faster and more informed decisions. I worked in a senior finance role within a global manufacturing and technology business, managing international accounting operations and supporting financial control, reporting, and process improvement across the company. My responsibilities included multi-currency accounting across GBP, USD, and EUR bank accounts, intercompany reconciliations, management reporting, VAT compliance, cash flow monitoring, and credit control. My experience also included purchase ledger management, supplier payments, invoice processing, worldwide debt collection, aged receivables forecasting, legal documentation, and complex account reconciliations. I additionally assisted with the company’s transition from average costing to standard costing, helping improve inventory valuation and reporting accuracy.
