FAQ
What hardware do I need?
Any x86 PC with at least 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. Old laptops, mini PCs (Dell Optiplex, Intel NUC), or dedicated servers all work great.
Can I access my server remotely?
Yes! I set up Tailscale or WireGuard VPN for secure remote access from anywhere — no port forwarding needed.
Will my data be safe?
I configure automated backups between VMs. Your data stays on YOUR hardware — nothing goes to the cloud.
Can I add more services later?
Absolutely. The environment makes it easy to spin up new containers. I provide full documentation so you can manage it yourself.
Do I need to pay for any software?
No. The hypervisor and all recommended services (Jellyfin, Nextcloud, Pi-hole) are 100% free and open source.
