Worked as the lead Strength & Conditioning coach for a high-level combat sports gym, developing performance programs for elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champions, professional MMA fighters, and competitive combat athletes. Responsible for designing and implementing sport-specific training systems to enhance strength, power, conditioning, mobility, and injury resilience while aligning with athletes’ technical training schedules and competition preparation. Key responsibilities included: • Designing periodised strength and conditioning programs tailored to combat sports performance. • Integrating plyometric training, explosive power development, and agility drills to improve fight performance. • Programming core stability and rotational strength training is essential for grappling and striking. • Using agonist/antagonist supersets and full range of motion training to maximize muscle development, joint stability, and movement efficiency. • Developing elite-level conditioning protocols specific to MMA and BJJ energy systems. • Implementing tapering strategies leading into competitions to optimize athlete performance and recovery. • Coaching footwork, coordination drills, and movement mechanics to improve athletic efficiency. • Delivering high-intensity abdominal and trunk training systems to build elite-level core strength for grappling dominance. • Monitoring athlete performance, recovery, and workload alongside fight camps and competition schedules. Through this role, I gained extensive experience working in high-performance combat sports environments, preparing athletes to perform at the highest level of international competition.
