The most common problem I encounter with technical Odoo clients is a system that works out of the box but breaks the moment their business needs something specific. Standard modules cannot handle their unique pricing logic. Their warehouse process does not map to default Odoo flows. They need Odoo to talk to an external platform, a payment provider, a logistics API, a custom ERP. Growing businesses that have been on Odoo for a few years tend to arrive at the same breaking point, the system they set up when they had twenty employees no longer fits a company of two hundred. HR processes are tracked in spreadsheets alongside Odoo. Payroll is calculated outside the system and entered manually. The version they are running is three releases behind and nobody wants to touch the upgrade for fear of breaking everything. Staff turnover means institutional knowledge about how the system works is disappearing. I worked as a global ERP consultancy, I served as lead Odoo functional consultant responsible for solving this exact category of problem for enterprise clients across multiple industries. I configured the full Odoo HR suite including payroll, employee lifecycle management, leave and attendance tracking, recruitment pipelines, performance appraisals, expense management, and fleet modules, all mapped precisely to each client's internal HR policy and labour law requirements. I managed complex version migrations from Odoo v14 through to v19, handled SaaS to self-hosted transitions and the reverse, resolved module conflicts and upgrade failures, and optimized system performance for databases carrying years of operational data. Beyond technical delivery, I built SOP documentation, delivered structured 1-on-1 and team training programs, produced video walkthroughs for non-technical staff, and designed monthly support retainer structures that kept clients running without disruption after go-live.
