FAQ
Q1: What are the design limitations or requirements for 3D puff embroidery?
A: For 3D puff to work, the satin columns (the width of the lines/text) must be between 2mm and 10mm wide. If lines are narrower than 2mm, there isn't enough physical room for the foam to rise; if they are wider than 10mm, the stitches will be loose and catch easily.
Q2: Can a single design mix both 3D puff and regular flat embroidery?
A: Yes! It is very common to have the main logo elements digitized in 3D puff and smaller, detailed elements (like small text or website URLs) digitized in flat embroidery. I will set up the stitching sequence perfectly so your machine handles the transitions seamlessly.
Q3: What thickness of embroidery foam should I use with your files?
A: My 3D puff files are optimized to run perfectly with standard 2mm or 3mm thick embroidery foam (EVA foam). If you plan on using thicker foam (like 4mm or dual-layered foam), please let me know when ordering so I can adjust the stitch density.
Q4: Do you digitize for curved hat frames (cap frames) or flat hoops?
A: I digitize specifically for curved cap frames! Cap digitizing requires a unique "center-out, bottom-to-top" sewing sequence to prevent fabric shifting, bunching, and puckering. Just specify that your file is for a cap when ordering.
