FAQ
What types of servers do you work with?
I work with Windows Server, Linux distributions, and VMware environments. I can assist with server configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, security hardening, and general administration.
Can you troubleshoot an existing server problem?
Yes. I can investigate system errors, service failures, connectivity issues, performance problems, configuration issues, and other server-related problems. For complex issues, I may recommend starting with the Server Checkup package.
Can you work on production servers?
Yes. I can work with production environments, but changes should be properly scoped and authorized. I take a careful approach designed to minimize disruption and can recommend backups or rollback procedures before making significant changes.
Do you provide server security hardening?
Yes. I can review and improve server security configurations, including system settings, services, access controls, firewall configurations, patching, and other applicable security controls.
Can you migrate a server or virtual machine?
Yes. I can assist with server and VM migrations. Migration projects vary significantly in complexity, so please contact me before ordering to confirm the scope, environment, and requirements.
Do you provide emergency server troubleshooting?
Yes, when available. Please message me first with the issue, environment, and urgency so I can confirm availability and provide an appropriate delivery estimate.
Will you need administrator/root access?
Depending on the task, administrative or root-level access may be required. Please provide only the minimum necessary access using a secure method. Never send passwords or sensitive credentials directly in the Fiverr chat.
Can you manage multiple servers?
Yes. I can work with multiple servers, but projects involving multiple systems require custom pricing based on the number of servers, operating systems, complexity, and required work.
Can you guarantee that you will fix my server?
I will make a reasonable effort to diagnose and resolve the issue, but some problems depend on third-party software, hardware, configuration history, or access limitations. I will communicate any limitations before proceeding with significant work.
Can you help if I don’t know what’s wrong?
Absolutely. That’s exactly what the Server Checkup package is designed for. I can assess the environment, identify potential issues, and recommend the appropriate next steps.
