I program coordinate measuring machines and run dimensional inspection on machined and moulded parts. Day to day this means writing measurement routines, building datum schemes that are actually reachable on the machine, interpreting GD&T to ISO 1101 and ISO 2768, and documenting results in inspection reports that a customer or auditor can follow. The part of the job that matters most for the work I offer here is the failure analysis. When a part does not fit, I am the one who measures it and finds out whether the problem is the process, the tooling or the drawing. That has taught me which tolerances are realistic, which datum choices cause problems downstream, and how a small design decision turns into a rejected batch three weeks later. I also write the technical documentation that goes with it: work instructions, inspection plans and quality procedures, in Croatian and English.
