Virtual Assistant | Administrative & Operations Support
GHA Foundation • Freelance
May 2026 - May 2026 • 0 mos
I’ve worked as a virtual assistant supporting both personal and business operations, helping clients stay organized and on top of their daily tasks. My role usually involves handling a mix of administrative and operational work so the client can focus on bigger priorities without worrying about the small details. One of my key responsibilities has been managing office supply orders. I keep track of inventory, monitor when items are running low, and place orders with approved vendors when needed. I also compare options when necessary to help ensure cost-effective purchases, and I always keep clear records of orders, invoices, and deliveries so everything is easy to track. I also handle email management by organizing inboxes, sorting messages based on urgency, responding to routine inquiries, and flagging anything important that needs attention. When needed, I follow up with vendors or contacts to make sure nothing is left pending or forgotten. In addition, I support day-to-day operations by tracking ongoing tasks, deadlines, and general activities. I usually set up simple tracking systems using Excel or Google Sheets to keep everything clear and easy to update. This includes task lists, purchase logs, expense tracking, and follow-up reminders. I also assist with scheduling, reminders, and general coordination to help keep things running smoothly. A big part of my work is making sure small but important tasks are completed on time so nothing builds up or gets missed. I like to keep communication clear and simple by providing regular updates when needed, so clients always know what has been done and what is still in progress. I work with tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and email platforms depending on what the client prefers. Overall, I focus on being organized, reliable, and proactive so I can take pressure off the client and help their daily operations run more smoothly.
Virtual Assistant | BookSwap SA – Community Growth & Operations Support

When I joined BookSwap SA, it felt like walking into a busy campus noticeboard that never stopped moving. New textbook posts were coming in every few minutes, students were messaging at the same time, and everything depended on speed, but there wasn’t a clear system holding it all together yet. At first, I focused on simply making the flow easier to follow. Listings were inconsistent, so I helped bring structure to how books were posted, making sure each one had clear details, correct module codes, and the required 3-photo format. This made it easier for students to quickly decide without asking repetitive questions. Then I moved into the communication side. The WhatsApp and Facebook groups were extremely active, especially during peak student periods. Messages would come in faster than they could be answered, so I helped keep responses steady, making sure inquiries didn’t get ignored or lost in the noise. As things grew, I started helping with visibility by posting listings into relevant university groups like UNISA, Wits, and UP. Instead of random posting, I made sure each post was clear, structured, and directed to the right student audience so it actually led to engagement. Behind the scenes, I worked with Google Sheets to keep track of listings, availability, and updates so nothing was duplicated or forgotten. Over time, this helped turn scattered updates into a simple, organized system that could be followed easily. I also assisted with basic Canva edits when needed to make listings more readable and visually clear in fast-moving group feeds. What started as a chaotic student marketplace slowly became a more structured system where students could find books faster, sellers had better visibility, and communication felt more organized even during high-demand periods.
Mobile App MVP Developer | Education Platform (Teacher–Student Learning System)
Yamazing • Freelance
Apr 2026 - May 2026 • 1 mo
I worked on a mobile app MVP project for an education platform designed to support structured learning between teachers and students. The goal of the project was to build a cross-platform application within a tight MVP timeline that could later be expanded into a full-scale learning ecosystem. In this project, I contributed to designing and developing the core structure of a dual-role system where teachers and students had different dashboards and permissions. Teachers were able to manage courses, upload learning materials, and track student progress, while students could access lessons, submit assignments, and view their learning journey in a structured format. I implemented features that supported video-based learning, document access, and basic live-coaching integration flow, ensuring the learning experience felt organized and easy to navigate. A key part of my work was building the student progress tracking system so teachers could monitor performance and engagement per learner. I also worked on the assessment module where students could take exams per course, and results were recorded to generate basic grading and performance feedback. This helped create a complete learning loop from content delivery to evaluation. Since this was an MVP-focused project, I prioritized speed of development while maintaining clean architecture for future scalability. I ensured the system was structured in a way that could later support additional roles like parents, who would be able to monitor student progress and learning activity. I also focused on cross-platform compatibility for both Android and iOS, making sure the app experience remained consistent across devices. Testing and debugging were part of my workflow to ensure stability before deployment and store readiness. Overall, my role focused on turning the education concept into a functional MVP that supports real classroom workflows, making learning, tracking, and assessment simple and scalable for future growth.
