Is your website still on PHP 7.4, 8.0 or 8.1?
On 21 Oct 2026, PHP fixed two critical remote code execution flaws (PHP2Shell, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619). Official fixed releases exist only for PHP 8.2 to 8.5, and PHP 8.2 itself reaches end of life on 31 Dec 2026.
I will move your site to a patched, supported PHP version (8.3 or 8.4) without breaking it.
What I do:
- Full backup before any change
- Check your PHP version and hosting setup
- Upgrade PHP on cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin or VPS
- Scan your code for PHP 8 incompatibilities
- Fix removed and deprecated code (mysql_*, each(), create_function, etc.)
- Update WordPress core, themes and plugins where needed
- Test key pages, forms, login and checkout
- Before/after report of every change

FAQ
Is my website affected by PHP2Shell?
If your server runs PHP older than 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27 or 8.5.12, treat it as affected. PHP 8.1, 8.0, 7.4 and older got no official fixed release. Send me your site URL and hosting name and I’ll confirm before you order.
Will my website go down during the upgrade?
I take a full backup and test on a staging copy first. The live site is switched only after the copy passes testing, usually with a few minutes of downtime or none. If anything breaks, I roll back in minutes.
My host says PHP is already patched. Do I still need this?
If you’re on PHP 8.2 or newer, a quick check (Basic) may be enough. If you’re on 7.4, 8.0 or 8.1, a vendor-patched build only buys time: that branch gets no future fixes. PHP 8.2 also ends on 31 Dec 2026, so moving to 8.3 or 8.4 is the safer fix.
Which PHP version will you upgrade to?
Usually PHP 8.4 (security support until the end of 2028) or 8.3, depending on what your plugins, theme or framework support. I confirm the target with you before changing anything.
What if a plugin or theme isn’t compatible with PHP 8?
I update it, patch it, or suggest a maintained replacement, and list it in your report. I never leave your site broken: if something can’t be fixed within the package, I roll back and explain your options.
Do you clean hacked or infected websites?
Standard and Premium include a compromise check (web shells, modified core files, unknown admin users). If I find an active infection, I stop and send you a separate quote for cleanup.
What access do you need?
Hosting panel (cPanel/Plesk) or SFTP/SSH, plus WordPress admin if you use WordPress. I'll ask for it in our order chat once we start. A temporary user is best, and please change the passwords after delivery.
