FAQ
What is included in "Orchestral Transcription"?
Orchestral Transcription means turning an existing audio recording or MIDI file into a fully notated score and set of individual instrumental parts. I accurately capture the pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and instrumentation heard in the source material.
Do you offer arranging or composing services?
No. This gig is strictly for transcription and engraving. I will faithfully reproduce the music you provide (via audio or sketch). I will not write original harmonies, counter-melodies, or change the instrumentation of the piece—that falls under arrangement, which is not my specialty here.
Can you extract parts from a score I already own?
Yes, absolutely. If you have a PDF of a full score (or the Sibelius/Finale file), I can meticulously extract, transpose, format, and optimize all the individual instrumental parts for performance. This falls under the SYMPHONIC SCORE MASTER package.
How do you handle transposition for instruments like Horns and Clarinets?
I am highly experienced with transposing instruments. In the final delivery: The Full Score will be provided in Concert Pitch (the notes as they sound, ideal for the conductor). The Individual Parts will be correctly written in their respective transposed keys (the notes the musician actually read
What if my piece is longer than 5 minutes?
Orchestral pieces over 5 minutes are complex and require a custom assessment. Please message me with the score or audio file, and the total instrument count, and I will provide a precise, competitive quote based on the music's density.
