Brightpath Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on youth empowerment, education access, and community health programs across West Africa. I joined as a grant writer and program consultant responsible for identifying funding opportunities and preparing applications to international donors, government agencies, and development organizations including USAID, the Ford Foundation, and local government bodies. I wrote full grant proposals from needs assessments through to budget narratives and evaluation frameworks, and managed relationships with program officers throughout the review process. During my two years with the foundation I secured over $900,000 in grant funding across four successfully awarded applications, two of which were first-time submissions to major international funders.
