Will my business experience downtime during the migration?
No. I use a background synchronization strategy. Your team will continue working on the old system while data is copied to the new cloud. We will schedule the final "cutover" (usually over a weekend) so your team leaves on Friday using the old system and logs in on Monday to the new one seamlessly.
What happens to my file and folder permissions?
For Microsoft 365 migrations (e.g., Google Drive to OneDrive/SharePoint) and on-premise server migrations, I map and migrate your existing file structures and permissions to ensure users only access what they are authorized to see.
Do you provide the Microsoft 365 or Azure licenses?
No, I provide the professional engineering services to execute the migration. You will need to purchase the necessary Microsoft 365 licenses or Azure subscription. However, I will gladly advise you on the exact licenses you need to avoid overspending.
How do you handle the domain transition (DNS/MX records)?
I handle the complete DNS cutover. Once all data is securely migrated and verified, I will update your MX and TXT records to route all new incoming emails to your new Microsoft 365 tenant.
How do you guarantee data security during the transfer?
All data is transferred using encrypted, Microsoft-approved migration tools (such as Azure Migrate or the Microsoft 365 Admin Center migration batches). Your data is never stored on my personal machines or third-party servers.
Do you migrate Calendars, Contacts, and Shared Mailboxes?
Yes, absolutely. A complete workspace migration includes not just user emails, but also personal calendars, contact lists, and any shared mailboxes (e.g., info@, sales@). Everything will be waiting for your team in the new Microsoft 365 environment.
Will I have to pay for both cloud providers at the same time?
Only for a very brief overlap period (usually 1 to 2 weeks). You must keep your source environment (e.g., Google Workspace) active during the background synchronization process. Once the final cutover is complete and we verify the data, you can safely cancel your old subscription.
What happens to my custom applications running on my on-premise servers?
During the "Assessment & Migration Plan" phase, I evaluate all your workloads. Depending on your needs, we will either perform a "Lift and Shift" (moving the server exactly as it is to Azure) or modernize the application to run natively on Azure App Services or SQL databases for better performance.
How will my employees know what to do on Monday morning?
I provide a clear, easy-to-follow "End-User Login Guide" that you can distribute to your team. It explains how to log into their new Microsoft 365 portal, set up their new passwords, and configure Outlook on their mobile devices.
Do you handle compliance and legal hold data during the migration?
Yes. If your organization is bound by strict compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and has Legal Holds or strict retention policies in place, please let me know during the requirement phase so I can map those policies to the Microsoft Purview compliance center in your new tenant.
