As a Project Officer at Barkly Regional Council, I supported projects and coordinated arrangements for stakeholders travelling throughout remote and rural areas of Australia. A big part of the role involved organising the practical details that come with travel to places where accommodation, food and other services can be limited. I researched available accommodation, coordinated bookings and helped organise meals and other arrangements around stakeholder schedules. I regularly had to work around limited availability, remote locations, changing schedules and competing requirements. This meant researching options carefully, communicating with different people and making sure everything was organised before people arrived. The role strengthened my ability to find practical solutions in locations where the usual options simply weren’t available. It also gave me valuable experience coordinating travel, accommodation, food and logistics for people travelling for work. I also have experience organising events and coordinating the many details that bring them together. I’ve helped manage venues, catering, suppliers, schedules, guests and event logistics, making sure everything is organised and runs smoothly. I enjoy creating experiences that feel thoughtful, well planned and memorable, from the practical details through to the little touches that make an event special. These skills now translate naturally into my travel concierge work, where I enjoy researching the details, finding suitable options and making a trip feel organised from beginning to end.
