What type of file should I submit?
Please submit your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). I use Microsoft Word Track Changes so you can see my edits.
What is proofreading and copyediting?
Proofreading and copyediting are the final steps before publication. If your draft is structurally sound and you are happy with your book, then proofreading and copyediting will fit your needs. This process corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation; ensures consistency; and eliminates errors.
Do you offer formatting?
I do not offer formatting services at this time. My expertise is proofreading and copyediting. I will make sure that your font, paragraphs, margins, titles, page numbers, etc. are all consistent in style.
What is your editing style?
I recognize that this is your book. As a proofreader and copy editor, I believe it is my job to only make changes if things are incorrect, unclear, or awkward. I will not rewrite your work. I will polish your book while maintaining your style and voice.
