Yes. Send the existing floor/roof plan, opening or span dimensions, number of supported levels, available bearing points and project location. The required member and supporting conditions can then be evaluated within the agreed scope.
Do I need calculations or only the drawing?
For a real engineering decision, calculations are often essential because the member needs to be checked against the applicable loads, span, strength and serviceability requirements. If you only need drafting, message me before ordering.
Can you prepare documents for a permit submission?
I can prepare the agreed engineering drawings and calculation package for review/submission. If your jurisdiction requires a locally licensed engineer’s seal or stamp, that requirement must be handled by an appropriately licensed professional for that jurisdiction.
What if I only have an architectural plan?
That's a good starting point. Send the architectural drawings plus project location and any available information about the existing structure. I’ll identify what additional information is needed before the engineering scope begins.
