Everyone has a story and a world that exists in their head, but getting that world to come to life is the hard part. You don't know where to start, or how to describe what you're imagining. Maybe you've got the basics down and just can't figure out how to add to it. Or maybe you don't know where to start in the first place.

There are so many questions that come up along the way: Does this make sense? Will the readers get this? Is this world realistic? Could these cultures actually function?

Sometimes our settings lack the believable qualities we want them to have. They're missing something and it just feels as though it's not strong enough to grab, let alone keep the reader's attention. It feels like it will fall apart along the way, or worse, that your audience won't care about it after the fact. In the end, you aren't satisfied and don't know how to fix it.
