Civil engineer on a railway corridor feasibility study combining road/rail geometry, hydraulics, geotechnics and GIS. - Studied 3 alternative corridors of about 85 km each and selected the optimal route through a weighted multi-criteria analysis - Produced horizontal alignments, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections and 3D terrain models in Autodesk Civil 3D - Carried out the hydraulic analysis of watercourses and drainage crossings along each corridor - Analyzed the geotechnical conditions of the terrain along each route - Built a GIS cost map (1 = favorable, 10 = forbidden) and generated corridor variants under several weighting scenarios - Developed a GIS + A* algorithm in Python that automates the corridor search, validated against the classic method with faster and more objective results - Prepared corridor maps and a comparison report with the recommended route
