What file formats do you accept?
I prefer STEP, IGES, or X_T files for 3D machining, and DXF or DWG for 2D parts/laser cutting. If you only have a 3D mesh file like an STL, please message me first so I can check if it is machinable.
Why do I need to contact you before placing an order?
CNC machining isn't a one-size-fits-all service. The final cost depends heavily on the complexity of your drawing, the material used, tolerances, and machine run-time. Contacting me first ensures you get an accurate, fair, and customized quote without overpaying.
Can the price be lower than your package prices?
Yes, absolutely! If your drawing is very simple, requires minimal machine time, or is a small 2D cutout, the price can easily be lower than the baseline packages. Always send me your file first so I can give you the best possible price.
What materials can you machine?
I specialize in various grades of aluminum (like 6061 and 7075), which are perfect for RC components and prototypes. However, I can also machine other metals (brass, copper, steel) and engineering plastics (Delrin/POM, Nylon, ABS). Let me know what your project requires!
Do you offer surface finishing (anodizing, bead blasting)?
Yes! I can provide standard as-machined finishes, bead blasting for a matte look, or anodizing in various colors to protect your aluminum parts and make them look professional. Please specify your finishing needs when you message me for a quote.
Can you help me optimize my design for CNC machining (DFM)?
Yes. If I notice a feature on your drawing that will be overly expensive or impossible to machine (like sharp internal corners), I will let you know and suggest simple design modifications to save you money and improve part strength.
