Book Editor/Copy Editor/Proofreader

Innovative Solutions • Full time

Jan 2021 - Aug 2025 • 4 yrs 7 mos

In this role, I wrote and edited book summaries for an app similar to Blinkist, working directly with internationally renowned authors, including Ray Dalio, whose book *The Changing World Order* I summarized. I covered a wide range of genres, including self-help, health and fitness, psychology, philosophy, religion, technology, natural sciences, science fiction, history, politics, finance, economics, international affairs, American history, secret societies, alternative narratives, and UFOs and extraterrestrial phenomena. I also wrote and edited scripts for book-summary videos and proofread them for clarity, accuracy, cohesion, and flow. Additionally, I mentored and trained writers in creative writing, scriptwriting, and AI-assisted content refinement, helping them bring personality to their work and produce engaging, accurate book summaries. As a writing consultant, mentor, and beta reader, I helped writers strengthen story structure and narrative flow, eliminate fluff and repetition, develop compelling character arcs, improve word choice, refine awkward phrasing, and communicate ideas more effectively. I emphasized concise, engaging writing that preserves emotional depth. Beyond editorial work, I contributed to annual report development, data analysis, and AI-assisted workflow optimization and company SOP development. I also developed HTML-based tools and frameworks to calculate editing percentages with greater accuracy, nuance, and sensitivity to writing style.
