FAQ
What is "defederation" and why is it needed?
Defederation is the process of removing GoDaddy’s control over your Microsoft 365 tenant. This allows full access to the Microsoft 365 admin center and unlocks all advanced features, licensing, and custom domain configurations.
Will I lose any data during the migration?
No, I ensure safe and secure migration of all emails and data. Backups are also available upon request.
How long does the migration and defederation take?
Migration: 2 to 24 hours (depending on mailbox size) Defederation: Usually completed in 1–2 hours after DNS updates
Will there be any downtime?
I plan the migration to avoid downtime. DNS changes may take time to propagate, but I minimize user impact.
What do I need to provide for the migration?
GoDaddy and Microsoft 365 account credentials Domain registrar access (for DNS updates) List of mailboxes/users to migrate
Do you offer support after the migration?
Yes, I offer free basic post-migration support for setup, verification, and minor troubleshooting.
Can you migrate multiple domains or accounts?
Absolutely. I handle multi-domain and multi-user migrations efficiently. Contact me for a custom offer.
Is data migration required?
No. This is NOT a tenant-to-tenant migration. Existing emails and accounts stay intact.
Do you provide post-support?
Yes, support is included to ensure everything works correctly.

This went much easier than I thought it would, and the cost is an exceptional value compared to what i had been quoted by U.S. based IT people. Extremely fast response time and the work was completed quickly. I would absolutely hire him again in the future for other projects as my business continues to grow.
