I have a PhD in Political Science and have been an ethnographer in the R&D of well-known mobile phone companies. My studies have led me to India's rural hinterlands, while my published papers have led me away from it. The one thing that continues to fascinate me (be it rural, urban, India or not) - is social interactions. My research has ranged from communication in rural areas, to digital consumption among the youth, digital identities of the economically marginalized, to how people convey (or hide) their emotions in social media.
