Leading the Data Science Department at the Center for Non-Communicable Diseases (CNCD), I have played a central role in strengthening the laboratory’s data infrastructure to support research on genetics, rare diseases, and complex chronic conditions. My work focuses on transforming raw clinical and laboratory data into reliable, high-quality resources that enable accurate analysis and informed decision-making. I established efficient pipelines for extracting and cleaning biochemistry data, improving data consistency and reducing processing time. By automating patient reporting workflows, I helped ensure timely and error-free delivery of results, enhancing both operational efficiency and clinical reliability. Managing the data entry team, I introduced quality control procedures and training practices that significantly improved data accuracy and accountability. A major achievement has been the development and continuous maintenance of phenotype data masters. Through systematic cleaning, standardization, and validation, I strengthened the foundation for genotype-phenotype studies and improved the usability of datasets for researchers. My analytical work involves exploring phenotype data to uncover trends, generate insights, and support research hypotheses that contribute to a deeper understanding of disease patterns. In addition, I designed micro-applications for laboratory inventory management, enabling better tracking of supplies, reducing stock inconsistencies, and supporting smoother lab operations. My approach emphasizes practical automation and scalable solutions tailored to research environments. My expertise combines biomedical data engineering, analytics, and team leadership. I am committed to building reliable data ecosystems that accelerate research, improve operational workflows, and support impactful discoveries in non-communicable and rare diseases.
