I have approximately seven years of professional experience in Pakistan’s federal government, having entered public service through the highly competitive Central Superior Services (CSS) examination and been allocated to the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (PAAS). My career provided me with practical experience in public financial management, government accounting, administrative procedures, institutional coordination, and public-sector accountability. I served as an Assistant Accountant General at the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) in Islamabad, a key institution within Pakistan’s federal public financial management system. In this role, I worked within established government financial rules and procedures, dealing with financial and administrative matters, official documentation, records, and coordination with different government offices and stakeholders. The position required accuracy, attention to detail, effective organization, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within formal institutional timelines. My experience gave me a practical understanding of how public resources are administered and how financial controls, accounting procedures, reporting, and administrative decision-making interact within government. It also exposed me to the challenges of implementing formal rules and procedures in large bureaucratic organizations, strengthening my understanding of institutional capacity, accountability, and public-sector performance. In addition to my core responsibilities, I was involved in professional and institutional matters through the PAAS Association, where I gained experience in coordinating with colleagues across different regions and engaging with senior government authorities. This strengthened my communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation, and organizational skills.
