Do I need to provide technical drawings or a sketch to get started?
No — you don't need any technical knowledge at all. A simple description of what you want, a photo of a similar product, or even a rough hand sketch is enough to get started. I will ask the right questions before I begin to make sure I fully understand your product.
Will the 3D model be ready to send directly to a manufacturer or factory?
The Standard and Premium packages are fully manufacturing-ready. They include the correct wall thicknesses, draft angles, parting lines, and tolerances needed for injection moulding. The Basic package is a concept model suitable for visual approval and prototyping, not factory submission.
What software do you use and what file formats will I receive?
I work in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and Rhino 3D depending on the complexity of your product. You will receive STEP and IGES files for manufacturing, STL for 3D printing, OBJ for rendering, and PDF technical drawings. Native CAD files are available on request.
Can you design a product that has multiple parts or assembly components?
Yes. Multi-part designs including snap-fits, press-fits, hinges, lids, and assembly components are covered under the Premium package. If your product has more than 3 parts, message me first so I can quote accurately.
Can the design be used for food-safe products?
Yes. I design with food-safe plastic materials in mind including PP (polypropylene), HDPE, and Tritan. I will specify the correct resin grade in the technical documentation so your manufacturer can source the right material.
