My aunt Rika wanted to bring her nastar product into retail after previously succeeding in small shops. However, because the packaging was only plastic with a sticker, it was rejected by major retailers.
She was very frustrated and told me about it, complaining while also giving me a list of what needed to be designed. Based on the stores requirements, her product needed more secure packaging, display packaging, and logistic packaging. That was the very first moment I, as a graphic designer, helped transform a product toward retail readiness.
