Hi there. My name is Rafael Delgado, also known as violoncelat and I have a master's degree as a professional cellist. I am a cello professor at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory in Buenos Aires. I also teach improvisation workshops for cellists and recording as a session player. I won the Gardel Award for the Best Album by Chamamé 2017 and I have participated in more than 150 studio recordings with collaborations on more than 200 songs. In addition to classical music, I specialize in world music, folklore, tango, music from Peru, Brazil and all Latin American music.


This service includes:

  • Arranging a CELLO voice from your song.
  • Recording a premium CELLO track, from my arrange (I can write the sheet music if you want).
  • I can do revisions and be as fast as you need.


My instruments are:

Cello 1: 4 strings Cello, German (circa 1880)

Cello 2: 5 strings Cello (low F), by Gervasio Barreiro (Argentina 2016)


I also use ProTools, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, Sibelius, Transcribe, Sonic Visulaiser, etc.

Rafael Delgado is one of the most active explorers and promoters of the cello in Latin American popular music. He has participated in more than 150 recording productions of folklore, tango, Afro-Peruvian music, pop and rock, among which stand out: La Grela Quinteto de Tango, Hernán Crespo Sexteto, Vuela Chiringa, Georgina Hassan Trío y Rafael Delgado Sexteto. He is the winner of the 2017 Gardel Prize in the Chamamé category, and nominated for the ACE Awards for best theater music for the play "El Rastro".
