Is this a certified appraisal I can use for taxes or court?
No — this is an analytical valuation for decision-making: buying, selling, negotiating, raising, planning. For IRS/CRA filings or litigation you need a credentialed appraiser, and I'll tell you so honestly rather than sell you the wrong product.
My broker says the business is worth X. Can you check their math?
That's one of the most valuable uses of this gig — an independent second opinion before you sign. Order Standard and send me their number.
Can you value a pre-revenue startup?
Yes, with the honest caveat that pre-revenue valuation is assumption-driven by nature. I use forward DCF plus stage-appropriate methods and show you the sensitivity, not one false-precision number.
What do you need from me?
2–3 years of financials if they exist (any format), what the business does, and the purpose. Messy exports are fine.
