Chi sono
Hi, I’m Ritika, a romance developmental editor, founder of Kiss and Critique book editing service, and a professionally paid overthinker of your plot. If your story feels a little off but you can’t tell why (or you’re hoping it’ll magically fix itself… it won’t), I’m your person. I give honest, actionable feedback on plot, pacing, characters, romance arc, and emotional payoff. No vague comments, no sugarcoating, no soul-crushing edits. Your story keeps its spark. I just make sure it doesn’t fall apart on page 47.

Founder of Kiss and Critique, where I work with romance writers to fix what’s not working at the structural level, before it turns into a full-blown “why does this feel off?” crisis. I’ve worked with both indie and bestselling authors, from messy first drafts to manuscripts that are almost there but not quite hitting the mark. Different writers, same goal: make the story actually work. I specialise in spotting the issues quietly sabotaging your story, like uneven pacing, weak turning points, inconsistent character motivation, and emotional arcs that almost land… but don’t. My feedback is detailed, practical, and actually usable. Writers leave with clear direction, stronger story foundations, and a much better grip on what their story is doing (and what it should be doing).

Ritika is exceptional. This was my second time hiring her to beta an interactive romance product (not a normal manuscript), and she brought the same sharp editor eye with zero fluff. She didn’t just “try it for an hour.” She ran multiple full stories across different character types to stress-test authenticity,...

I just finished going through your notes, and honestly can’t thank you enough. Not only did you deliver superfast, your commentary was absolute gold. You managed to point out issues that would improve the manuscript while still making me feel inspired to write, which is a rare gift! I value your service...

Ritika provided a thorough beta read of my manuscript, tailoring her feedback to my current stage of editing. Her fresh perspective helped me identify lingering issues after developmental editing and strengthen the story overall.
